Ce classement forcément un peu subjectif est une tentative par l'historien américain Michael Hart de faire une liste des 100 hommes les plus influents de tous les temps (du plus influent au moins influent).
Dans son livre The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History, M.H. Hart donne une brève biographie de chaque individu ainsi que les raisons de son classement
1 Muhammad Prophet of Islam; conqueror of Arabia, major military/political leader.
